Torquay United Football Club is a professional association football club based in Torquay, Devon, England. The team compete in the National League, English football's fifth tier. They have played their home matches at Plainmoor since 1921 and are nicknamed "The Gulls".
Founded in 1899, the club first entered the East Devon League. They went on to win the Torquay & District League in 1908–09, the Plymouth & West Devon League 1911–12, and were admitted into the Football League in 1927 after claiming the Southern League title and second-place in the Western League in 1926–27.
